​General Manager of colleges & institutes launches e-learning project​

Under the sponsorship of Dr. Ali Hasan Asiri, the General Manager of the Colleges and Institutes Sector of the Royal Commission, the E-Learning Project Committee of the sector inaugurated the pilot phase of the E-Learning project on Thursday, 9 April 2014, in the office of the general manager. The inauguration took place in the presence of Dr. Maher Muhammad al Ghanem, Managing Director of Jubail University College, Dr. Adel Salem Bahakeem, Managing Director of Jubail Industrial College, Eng. Mansor Ali al Enezi, Manager of Jubail Technical Institute and Dr. Fahad Al Shahrani, the E-Learning Project Committee Chairman.

During the occasion, the General Manager spoke about the significant role of E-Learning as the sector aims to support and develop the educational process as well as remaining abreast of the best possible methods and delivering them to students within the sector. The head of the Committee, then provided a presentation on E-Learning, the mechanism upon which the project will be based, and the respective plan of action. Accordingly, the inauguration of pilot phase of the project was conducted and will continue gradually until it is ready for teachers and students. The General Manager thanked the Chairman of the E-Learning Committee and his team for all of the effort exerted on this project. The General Manager also requested from the committee to implement the following plan of action whilst implementing the project:

• Forming the project administrative team upon whom the responsibility of establishing the work mechanism along with the project implementation requirements.   

• Cooperating with ITC regarding the required hardware infrastructure.

• Providing the needed supporting systems and software.  

• Training the staff and students in the sector and providing the end-user services for them or nominating specialized team for that purpose.

• Providing training plans for the academic staff members and organizing workshops and training sessions related to the used systems.

• Providing the needed support for the sector.
