  • Academic Advisory Orientations

The Business Administration Department conducted a series of Academic Advisory Orientation for MIS, ACCT, BA and HRM students from February 5 - 22, 2018 in order to create awareness of Academic Advisory.

  • Program Review Process & Program Evaluation Process workshop

Ms. Saja Al-Awdah from the Business Administration Department conducted faculty development program entitled Program Review Process & Program Evaluation Process on January 29, 2018.The main objective of the workshop was to brief the faculty on maintaining a systematic process for reviewing and evaluating academic programs in JUC as per the Policies and Procedures.

  •  Workshop on Trends and challenges of Assessment in Undergraduate Business School

Ms. Sabitha Niketh from the Business Administration Department conducted faculty development program entitled Trends and challenges of Assessment in Undergraduate Business School on January 30, 2018.The main purpose was to share comparative assessments patterns followed in other university while ensuring the JUC assessment pattern is competent and challenging.

  • Trends and challenges in Registration and Academic Records 

Ms. Malak Al-Qahtani and Ms. Noora Al-Obaidan from the Business Administration Department organized faculty development workshop entitled Trends and challenges in Registration and Academic Records on January 30, 2018. The main objective of the workshop was to discuss Course load, adding and dropping courses, academic status, withdrawal of enrolment, and GPA and CGPA calculation.

  • Trend in E-learning & Digital Library workshop

The program was conducted by Ms. Sabitha Niketh from the Business Administration Department on February 5, 2018 to discuss the Integration of traditional learning with E-learning to enhance the learning skills of students and faculties and Extension of tradition library to digital library for effective and efficient use of resources.

  • Preparation for Internal Audit Workshop

Dr. Asha Alexander, Chairperson of Business Administration Department conducted   workshop on   Preparation of Internal Audit on February 12, 2018. She briefed about the various criteria, evidence to be prepared answering the interview questions and   JUC policies and procedures.

  • Industrial Visit to Expertise Contracting Company

Business Club organized a trip to Expertise Contracting Company on February 28, 2018 in order to expose the students to the work environment and enable them to link their theoretical knowledge to the practice. There was an orientation provided by the representatives of the company about the firm and Finance and Human Recourses departments. The students had a tour in all departments. In addition to that, there was a tour for the stores, workshops, and the used vehicles and equipment.

  • Women International Day

Business Club members   celebrated   with various activities. One among them was to giving away gifts as a nice gesture to staff and students.

  • World down Syndrome Day

Business Club members   celebrated “World Down Syndrome Day “on February 21, 2018 with an objective of creating more awareness about the support that society can extent towards long term suffering.

  • Marketing Day

Business Club organized on March 25, 2018 “Marketing Day “where students prepared a poster presentation explaining the latest trends in the field  of marketing in today’s  Business world.

  • Economics Day


Business Club organized “Economics Day “on April 1, 2018. The students conducted a poster presentation about “Saudi Economy”. Club members   also conducted interesting games related to the Economics concepts where visitors had a great opportunity to enjoy playing and learning about those concepts.

  • “Money Matters” -Accounting & finance Day

Business Club organized poster presentation for the students about Accounting & finance topics entitled “Money Matters” on April 22, 2018. 

  • Human Resources Day

Business Club organized on April 16, 2018 a poster presentation related to Human Resources topics. Business club organized an interesting game related to HRM concepts where attendees learned and enjoyed.

  • Second Annual Science Symposium

The below posters were presented by Business Administration Department students in the Second Annual Science Symposium which was conducted on March 13, 2018:

  • Field Trip to Deliotte

Business Administration Department organized field trip to Deliotte Company to Khobar on March 21, 2018 .This is one of the big Accounting companies.  It was a great opportunity for the student to get exposed to the Accounting firms. They were provided with informative presentations from the professionals and they had a chance to ask the professionals about their inquiries. In addition to that students had a tour guided by the representatives of the firm in all departments and offices.          
 
  • Community Service Workshop

Ms. Noora AlObaidan and Ms. Wafa Osimi from Business Administration Department conducted workshop entitled ‘’Effective Study Habits’’ for 8th Middle School, Jubail Industrial City on April 24, 2018 The main objective of the workshop was to help the student in achieving success by developing and applying effective study habits.
 
  • Career Counselling Workshop: How to Get Ready for the Job Market?

Career Counselling Workshop was conducted by Ms. Anwar Alshehri from the Business Administration Department for BA and MIS students on January 28, 2018.

  • Success in University Advisory Workshop

Ms. Anwar Alshehri from the Business Administration Department conducted workshop entitled “Success in University “on September 10, 2018.The workshop targeted the prep year and freshman students and focused on providing them with the proper techniques and tips recommended to have a better academic experience.

  • Orientation of Advisory Program for Freshmen

The Business Administration Department conducted a series of Academic Advisory Orientation for MIS, ACCT, BA and HRM students on September 9, 25,26 & 29 2018.

  • Useful Blackboard Features

Ms. Malak Saleh Al-Ruqaie from the Business Administration Department conducted faculty development program entitled “Useful Blackboard Features” on September 11, 2018.

  • Imparting Commitment & Loyalty among the Future Employee in Workplace  

Dr. Abirami Devi Sivakumar from the Business Administration Department conducted faculty development program entitled Imparting Commitment & Loyalty among the Future Employee in Workplace on October 8, 2018.

  • Overcoming Challenges at Work Place for a Pleasant Work Environment

Ms. Sabitha NIKETH from the Business Administration Department conducted faculty development program entitled Overcoming Challenges at Work Place for a Pleasant Work Environment on November 20, 2018.

  • Teacher’s Day

Business Club members conducted Teacher’s Day on October 4, 2018 to express their gratitude towards the teachers. They conducted a game for the teachers, they distributed gifs, coffee and messages from the students to their teachers.

  • Talent in Focus Competition

Business Club conducted “Talent in Focus Competition on October 8, 2018”. The program had various sections  focusing on business knowledge, creativity, teamwork, decision making and presentation skills respectively. The participants passed through all the sections and a winner has been announced by the end.

  • Ad Mad Show

Business Club conducted “Marketing competition” on November 5, 2018 where participants showed their talents and skills in   preparing advertisement for a new Shawarma restaurant. They presented logo, Advertising banner, Slogan, and packaging for the products. The panel evaluated the teams and announced the winner.   
   
  • My Career Event

Business Club conducted a successful awareness event that gave the students the chance to obtain a clear picture about the requirements of building a successful career on November 26, 2018. Experienced faculty members from Business Administration Department participated in the event by providing experience and knowledge to the students. There were four informative corners; Resume, Interview, Performance and Development.

  • Field trip to Human Development Fund (HADAF)

Business Administration Department organized Field trips for HR students to Human Development Fund (HADAF) on November 5, 2018. The objective behind the visit was to have interactive session to help companies gauge the knowledge and soft skills of students and to answer student queries about summer training and placement.

  • Career Counselling Workshop 

Career Counselling Workshop on “Studying Abroad “was conducted by Ms. Baian AlDalham from the Business Administration Department for BA and MIS students on November 29, 2018.


  • FRESHMEN ACADEMIC ADVISORY ORIENTATION

The Business Administration Department conducted a series of Academic Advisory Orientation for freshmen students on September 28, October 3, 4 & 8, 2017.

The aim of the orientation was to introduce and familiarize the students with the college's policies and procedures regarding admission, registration and the role of academic advisors in their education. Students were also informed about their duties as advisees regarding the requirements, academic rules and regulations of the college; the important dates in the academic calendar; the Academic Advisors and important details during consultation. Students were also introduced to academic advisors of Business Administration Department.

 

  • Field Training WOrkshop: Managing Outcomes and Work Commitment

Dr. Abirami Sivakumar from the Business Administration Department initiated a workshop for all Field Training students of Jubail University College (JUC) on October 9, 2017.

The main objective of the workshop was to assist students on how to handle outcomes in work situations and instill good attitudes in work commitment. All aspects were discussed on how to become a responsible employee in upholding the mission and goals of an organization.

 

Faculty Development Programs

  • Talent vs. Efforts Presentation

Dr. Asha Alexander, Chairperson of Business Administration Department initiated the 1st faculty development program entitled Talent vs. Efforts on October 2, 2017.

The main purpose of the presentation was to give enlightenment about the research of Dr. Angela Duckworth entitled "Grit: The Power of Passion and Perseverance". The author of the New York Times Bestseller and a pioneering psychologist shows anyone striving to succeed- be it parents, educators, athletes or business people- that the secret to outstanding achievement is not talent but the special blend of passion and persistence she calls "grit".


  • Curriculum Development for Teaching Excellence & Community Advancement Presentation

Dr. Abirami Sivakumar from the Business Administration Department conducted the 2nd faculty development program entitled Curriculum Development for Teaching Excellence & Community Advancement on October 3, 2017.

The target of the presentation was to discuss the difference between the Traditional and Progressive points of view of the Curriculum and to increase the awareness of faculty members about curriculum related issues.

 

  • Achievement of Program Outcomes Through Field Training Workshop and Sharing of Field Training Academic Supervisors' Experience During Company Visits Forum

Dr. Suja Sundram from the Business Administration Department led the 3rd faculty development program entitled Achievement of Business and Program Outcomes through Field Training.

This was followed by a forum about Field Training Academic Supervisors' Experience during Company Visits on October 23 and 30, 2017.The purpose of the forum was to consolidate all feedbacks of the supervisors during Field Training visits to reputed industries like SASREF, ARMCO, SABIC etc. and to address all concerns.

 

  • New Trends in Academic Advising Workshop

The Business Administration Department presented the 4th faculty development program as an advisory workshop entitled New Trends in Academic Advising on November 13, 2017.This was conducted by Dr. Humera Shahid.

The objective of the workshop was to familiarize the audience with academic advising and its history. The attendees were also introduced with NACADA- an association of professional advisors, counselors, faculty, administrators, and students working to enhance the educational development of students.

The focus of the workshop was also to equip the audience with an understanding of core competencies of the Academic Advisory, its functionality as a team activity, and the role as teachers and advisors. The workshop ended with a discussion about the practices of academic advising worldwide and best practices for Jubail University College (JUC).

 

ExtrA- Curricular Activities

  • Faculty Inspirational Talk

The Business Club organized an event entitled Faculty Inspirational Talk on November 12, 2017 at the MPH. The talk was centered on the professional experience and challenges the speakers faced during their career life that served as inspiration and hope for improvement to students especially during challenges experienced to aid in achieving success in the future.

  • Business Cycle Exhibition

The Business Club organized an exhibition on November 20, 2017 at the MPH. The event's main objective was to give the opportunity to market and sell product as an application of business knowledge that has been encountered in classes. The event also showed important departments in every organization and the responsibilities of each functional division such as Finance, Health Resources, Legal Environment, Marketing and Accounting.

  • Paper Prototyping Workshop

The Business Club organized a workshop on November 21, 2017 at the MPH. The idea of the workshop was to give the participants the opportunity to know more about the principles of making an application design with the steps and rules they have to follow in order to design an application interface windows followed by a practical session at the end of the activity.

  • PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Industry Visit and Training

The field visit was arranged by students on November 26, 2017 at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), Al Khobar, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. A training was organized by PwC at their venue on the roles and responsibilities of auditors to financial institutions. This visit and session was organized for senior students who are studying BUS 426 (Financial Institution) course at Jubail University College (JUC).

 

  • Talent in Focus Competition

Talent in Focus is a competition that consists of 11 challenges that test the participants' knowledge in different areas. Four teams of six members competed and showed their best in order to win valuable prizes. Participants showed their abilities in the various challenges. They presented their skills in presentation, communication, marketing and management, cognitive and general knowledge. The competition was participated by BUS, MIS and Accounting students on December 4, 2017 at the MPH.

 

  • JUC Tank

JUC Tank is competition that represents the real application of business knowledge and gives chance to students who are possible future entrepreneurs to present their projects. There were 11 participants who presented their ideas to the judges on December 18, 2017.

 

Accreditation Support

  • ACBSP Mentor Visit and Workshops

The Jubail University College (JUC) has received candidacy status from the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP). Dr. Rajesh Khajuria, the ACBSP mentor, visited the campus on December 10-11, 2017. He conducted a series of workshops on how to write SSR, how to prepare evidence file, how to align the prevailing data to ACBSP standards and Peregrine Assessments. The workshops were very helpful to prepare and seek ACBSP accreditation.

 

Counselling

  • Studying Abroad Career Counselling Workshop

Dr. Asha Alexander, the Chairperson of the Business Administration department conducted a workshop entitled "Studying Abroad" on December 19, 2017.  The main purpose of the workshop was to prepare the Jubail University College (JUC) students to pursue their Masters in their area of specialization. The career counselling session   covered topics on qualities required to pursue Master's Degree in foreign land such as USA and UK. Further, it also covered areas related to entrance examinations such as GRE, GMAT, TOFEL, IELTS, Admission Criteria , Letter of Intent and Visa.

 

Co- Curricular Activities

  • Student Project Exhibition 2017

The Business Administration Department presented eleven (11) projects for the Students Project Exhibition Day on December 13, 2017. The Business Administration Department winning project was "World of Innovation -Smart Chair" built to support student's activities, facilitate long sitting periods while providing all facilities needed at hand easily and in an effortless manner. The project team consisted of the following students:    Danah Khaleel Alhassan, Raghad saeed Aljathanin, Sara Abdullah Alfaris, Sara Abdullah Aldossary and Loulwah Jassem Albouainin.

 

  • Guest Lecture from SABIC  via  video conference  for MIS 409 (Information Resources Management)

Mr. Murhaf Al-Madani, Vice President of SABIC Global IT visited the campus on December 17, 2017.  He conducted a Q & A sessions addressing to the various queries of the senior students in the area of Management Information System.

 

Community Service Workshop

Dr. Abirami Sivakumar conducted a Stock Market Operations and Technical workshop on December 27, 2017 for the bank employees at Jubail University College (JUC).The topics covered during the workshop were Growth Models for Investors (Constant Growth, No growth and Non Constant Growth), Concept of Risk Return and Trade Off, Rating of Companies, Secondary Market Traders, Principles, Applications, and Assumptions of Technical Analysis, Construction and Interpretation of Charts, Trend, Support, and Resistance Lines, and Change in Polarity, Common Technical Analysis Patterns, Indicators, and Cycles, Elliott Wave Theory, and Intermarket Analysis.
